The primary objective of the Education Program is to assist Ginoogaming First Nation members by providing bursaries to help them complete courses or programs of study at recognized colleges, universities and technical institutes.
The second objective is to assist Ginoogaming First Nation members who have been assessed by medical and education authoritites to have special needs related to physical or developmental challenges.
Bursaries awarded to GFN members through this Education Program are intended to supplement other funding sources. (ie: Indian Affairs, Matawa Post Secondary Authority).
Bursaries may only be awarded in accordance to the Ginoogaming First Nation Timber Claim Trust Education Program Policy.
Since the program started in 2004, the Trust has disbursed $312,322.91 in education bursaries to assist 177 members who were enrolled in an education program. This is one program that the Trustees are proud of as it provides assitance to all members.
